Get outstanding 3D printing results when you use 1.75mm PLA 3D Printer Filament from Monoprice! PLA is a good choice for a printing material if you are looking for high accuracy and high resolution. It extrudes at lower temperatures, does not require a heated base, and has a very low shrinkage rate (0.3%). PLA is harder than ABS, but is therefore also a bit more brittle. This 1 kg spool features a thickness of 1.75mm ±0.10mm, with a roundness variation of only 0.03mm. It has a nominal processing temperature of 210° C (410°F). Thickness and roundness factors are laser measured at the factory to ensure accuracy over the entire length of the filament. The negatives of using PLA is that it is vulnerable to degradation from moisture, sunlight, and heat. Additionally, it is more prone to overheating during processing, which can cause dripping and drooping if it gets too hot.

Monoprice mini delta v1 prints really nice with this filament. I've run into other cheaper filament clogging more regularly. To sum things up without making you read the whole review- I wouldn't buy this If I were you. This filament has some unfortunate inconsistencies between batches that are impossible to ignore.I ordered two spools of black PLA in early 2020, for those curious and to make sure that you know I'm talking about the same filament it is Monoprice part number 10551 "Premium 3D Printer Filament." These rolls were fantastic. They produced beautiful black parts that weren't matte and not very glossy. The finish was perfect. The print quality was also great. Rafts and supports came off easily, the finish helped hide layer lines, I never had any issues with clogging, there were no tolerance issues, basically everything I could ever want out of a $20 filament. I wish now that I would have stocked up at the time because apparently the product has either intentionally been changed or there are serious inconsistencies between batches. I understand that some variation is to be expected, but the newest two rolls I bought this past week are a complete 180 from the previous rolls.I was very careful to ensure that I ordered the same P/N 10551 filament this time around, hoping that it would be the same stuff I got before. These new spools are marked the exact same way as the last two, but the spools themselves are different, not that that should matter. The finish on the filament itself is very glossy, and it produces very glossy prints. In the light it make layer lines much more pronounced and is a generally less attractive finish in my opinion. Rafts and supports will not break off easily, in fact most of the time I find I'm having to use pliers and a scraper to rip them off. The print quality is much worse, especially the first layer on top of the raft/bottom layer when not using a raft, and above supports. I could maybe live with the glossy finish If I absolutely had to, but the print quality and issues with support adhesion are deal breakers. Either the product has completely changed or there are wild inconsistencies that evade any quality control, if it even exists. Maybe I got really lucky before and got a good batch, or maybe I got very unlucky this time and got a bad batch. Either way, the risk of receiving a bad roll of filament, especially when you need it to finish a build, is way too high for me.I may consider buying direct from Monoprice to see if they possibly save the "good stuff" for their direct sales, but I'm doubtful.First picture- 2020 filament, looks great.Second picture- 2022 filament. Note that the hard line mid print is from a power outage, and the pimpling effect could be solved by using a z seam. Both were printed at the same temp and speeds. I could reslice the model and play with settings, but I don't want to have to adjust my settings every time I change a roll, and that isn't an option if I have to change rolls mid print.Third picture- 2020 filament raftFourth picture- 2022 filament raftFifth picture- 2020 filament on the left, 2022 on the right. It's hard to see in the picture but in real life the difference in finish is plainly visible. What I can't easily show in pictures- How hard it is to separate supports and rafts, even with a .3mm air gap/ Z distance. I literally had to pound a scraper in between the parts and the supports with a hammer to separate them. The finish was so bad underneath that I trashed the parts immediately.I've had a terrible time figuring out why my nozzle was clogging on this PLA even at 230 degrees Centigrade, and it seems that the last 25% of the reel's filament suddenly stopped melting properly. I changed nozzle 3 times, did a "cold pull," and even tried manually feeding the filament at 230 degrees, and the filament just wouldn't flow. Just before I tried changing the thermister to see if the temperature was "off", I installed an old reel of PLA that I'd used before, and discovered that this old reel of filament worked great on the same gcode file(s) that just wouldn't work on that last 25% of the much newer Monoprice PLA. Disappointing to say the least, but at least it proves the value of all the standard troubleshooting steps. This was the first time I've encountered a filament reel that changed characteristics so drastically along the length of the reel. This is an excellent value. I have the ender 3 pro and I set it to 225c and 60c on the bed to get it to work for me. I originally had it at 200 and 40 but I had problems. After you heat it up a bit more the prints come out smooth and shiny. I would probably get another one. The color is nice too. And if you really wanted to you can always paint it.I bought the black roll and the clear roll to make phone stands and neither one worked correctlyThe black roll worked until I got through 25% through it. Then it immediately kept clogging and bricked both of my printers (Ender 3 pro and Labists ET4 Pro). The clear roll never worked and I spent a month trying to figure out why they werent cooperating. Turns out that on certain lengths, the filament is between .5 or more off from 1.75mm.I dehydrated both of them and tried many different settings. I even changed my nozzles. The clear one screwed up my PTFE tubing on both printers and I had to purchase a whole new roll of it, very disappointed.I bought this at discounted price. As a noobie, this is among the first batch of filaments i've bought. This material has a more shiny look and more dense/crisp feel than the sample shipped with my printer. My sample filament was of a "flat" color/sheen and also seemed more porous than this Monoprice. My first print was at "Draft" 0.28mm layer heights, and i did not come out very good with very poor adhesion and under-extrusion, but i can also say this to be true of the my sample filament. Once i started printing with 0.2mm and 0.16mm layers, i became very satisfied.Muy fácil de trabajar. Muy constante el diámetro y produce piezas excelentes. Muy buen precio y el envío internacional fueiy ágil.I have purchased 3 colors form monoprice; the white, red and grey. Of those three colors it is in my opinion that the white is ideal for printing unfortunately I cannot say the same for the red and the gray. The gray seems to have crackling sounds during print and it creates gaps especially on finished surfaces the red is not purely red it appears to be more orange. On average I like their products however for what I'm printing currently I require a little more bit more accuracy.I don't know if this is a one-time issue I have ordered replacement mints for the gray and the red and we will see if there is any improvementsI ordered 40 rolls, arrived v quickly to the uk. two rolls has winding issues, but the other 38 were perfect. great quality. shame that two rolls were no good.I would reccomend Monoprice filament as I have had 0 issues using it. To further my recommendation, I would buy it again.Seller was good with communication, so all was good with them..used this to print and donate face masks for key workers during the covid lock down. It was one of the strongest plastics and the colour got a good response.Don't expect the clear filament to be clear, but the print quality is fine at 200cGreat item. great price and great service.
