Supported by manufacturer with years of research and innovation in 3D printing technology in different industries, Duramic 3D is dedicated to offer high quality and cost-effective 3d printing filaments with consistent performance. Important Notice: Duramic 3D plans to switch all the series gradually from plastic spools to cardboard spools, in order to better protect the environment. Besides, the paper spool, along with the paper sticker, is easily for sorting and recycling itself. The filaments remain the same formula and quality. I bought it earlier today and am testing it on a 21 hour print. From the start I like that the vacuum sealed bag is resealable and that the filament is more flexible & less likely to unspool itself like normal PLA. We'll see how it all turns out tomorrow.I have used this filament for over a year and have great results. I use a CR-10 v3. I get great adhesion and print quality. I print at 223 degrees with a bed temp of 67.As per their usual, Duramic delivers a quality product at a decent price. After some early travails, with different products, I exclusively use Duramic PLA for my FDM printing. Their consistency and range of colors lend it to any PLA project.Update, 2nd order has been a little more problematic, black keeps giving me random layer gaps, did another pid tune and e step calibration, still the same thing. Tried another filament, worked fine. Can't speak for the consistency of Duramic. The matte blue and black from Duramic has been in my top tier since arriving. Depending on surface area, I have to adjust the bed temp. Smaller items get 55, larger get 50. It's not a no brainer, but doesn't need much. Printing temp has been pretty consistent at 215 with 218 for first layer. I get the occasional weirdness, but overall it's been great. Can't speak for anything other than the matte colors so far, but I'm so impressed I ordered another 2 pack. After some tweaking to normal PLA+ settings and some guidance by the Duramic Team I was able to get great results from this filament. I plan to paint the prints but this blue is so amazing. Needed a bit more heat at the hotend then my typical PLA+ but after it was dialed in I got amazing results. No stringing and great layer and bed adhesion.Prints great, no tangles on the spool, etc. Follow the temp guidelines and you should have good luck.I like the matte color and its performance. Very good value, works very well.I've tried adjusting temperatures, speeds, bed temps, and all sorts of printer settings. Just can't seem to get this to print well. Other filaments work fine, something about this brand, my printer doesn't like it.Using Ender 3 ProEdit: After having the below issues with the filiment the manufacturer sent replacments. I tried printing again with the replacement filiments and didn't have any of the issues I had with the first batch. It adhered well to the bed and didn't have the popping sounds during printing so there were no breaks in the extrusion. I have added a photo of a white print taken close up to show how the layers are coming out with the new batch of filiment.I have used other Duramic filiment without any issues but both of the matte colors (blue and grey) I have used have had bed adhesion difficulties and either air voids or moisture in brand new filiment. As it prints you can hear some crackles and pops which leave voids in the walls being printed or gaps in the bottom layer of the print. I contacted the company 4 days ago and haven't heard anything back. I will be avoiding the brand because I don't want to continue having 50% of the rolls I order end up as waste. The green filiment is by a different brand and is included in the phot for comparison sake. The filament is good quality, but it’s just so badly wound on the spool that it keeps getting stuck. I literally have to sit there through the print to untangle the filament as my extruder tries to pull on it! I don’t recommend this for long unattended print jobs.EDITED : After receiving a 2nd roll, I have not encountered the problem. The 2nd roll worked perfectly and has not gotten stuck yet. Excellent customer support.I'm not convinced there is wood in this pla. I printed a model with this item and another brand of wood pla. The other pla had the usual stringing and burnt wood odour when printing with wood. The Duramic didn't have much of an odour and printed very smoothly. I love the colour but I'm disappointed at the finish. It doesn't seem to accept stain at all. For wood, I would not buy this again.UpDATE: Durmac sent me a replacement film, and it worked well, and i was able to print without any snags. The filament seems good quality and the issues seem limited to one roll. Good customer service from Durmac. (Original Posting)This filament prints decently when its not snagging. I've had 3 failed prints on this roll already due to poorly wrapped filament. I'm super careful about not letting the filament lose its tension on the roll when feeding it in so this is not user error. From the pictures it the filament looks matte black but its glossy on the spool and glossy when printed**Edit: before reading my bad review of this product, know that the company reached out to me, sent me another roll of their regular neat black pla (not matte) and it seem to so far print nicely. I'm very happy about how they handled the situation. **I'm really not sure what all these good reviews are about. I bought the mat black and have burned through about 1/4 of the roll trying to get it to print with different settings and it's just print failure after print failure. In almost 5 years of 3d printing I've never had filament like this that just won't stick and print.
