Bottom line is I saved some coin on buying the "clone" vs the brand name (Duet) product but ultimately spent significant time and had to heavily crutch off of Duet's resources to get the Big Dipper's firmware working. This pains me to rank this product so poorly because hardware wise it is excellent (while I feel Duet is heavily lacking in putting ANY thought into hardware) but firmware/software wise you are totally at the mercy of you're own problem solving and Duet's resources (and I just don't have the gall to ask them what's wrong with their competitors product). Read on if you want to know more.Bought this board as a direct replacement for a Duet 3 mini that got damaged; should be plug and play right? Wrong. Came loaded with Beta firmware that has a list of faults in Duet's github that is pages long....heaters didn't work, CAN toolboard wouldn't connect, accelerometer not recognized and so on. Should be an easy fix; just downgrade the firmware per Duet's instructions....Wrong Again. Run the firmware installer; no change, run a different firmware version, no change. Search for help; more threads about problems with similar Beta firmwares and nothing about downgrade issues.Fast Forward, back to basics; install the firmware one file at a time using M997. File not found error. Scream at computer. Wait, what file is it looking for? Realize the flashed firmware has been renamed "Big Dipper" proceed to rename Duet firmware files with the "missing" names and finally install downgraded firmware after days of beating my head against the wall. While all my previous functions are restored; I'm still not certain all functions beyond the 3 mini (like the additional stepper drivers) will work.All this to say; if you buy this board it will not work as intended out of the box and you will be all on your own to make it work for you. There is ZERO internet support or appropriate manufacturer documentation about the product you will receive. I threw away nearly 2 weeks of enjoying my printer away to save $75 and that was a mistake on my part. If you do buy this product I hope that my vague description of the solution can lead you to a solution sooner; if you're confused please realize you need a Duet Control board.Ending on a good note; I like the JST 2.5 connectors that this board uses alot better than what Duet uses on their boards. Additionally, hardware wise the Big Dipper is good value for money and the included stepper driver heat sinks are a nice touch. I do feel that a full connector kit should be included with all PCB products but that is another rant for another day. (Read: buy a kit of JST-XH 2.54 connectors and crimper if you don't have them already) Finally the ease of configuration of different voltages on different IO plugs is a big thumbs up.
