Now Im not a machinist, but i think some people expect professional grade machining from low end parts. Not to say there is not legitimate criticism in these reviews. Rust? Unacceptable. Slight drag? Acceptable. I bought 4 of these, a pair at a time. First, love the look of the black, keeps the glare from light shining off them and onto my computer screen to a minimum. I also bought a spare set of ball bearings and some new oil. First set, drag on both, not terrible but i followed the advice of other reviews, cleaned with IPA and re-oiled. Came out acceptable. Second pair perfect out of box, im not going to even bother cleaning or reoiling. For the price, im happy. They perform as expected.Ive been through my fair share of shoddy rails and I got this expecting to do the usual. degrease it, clean it, and even replace the bearings with good ones. To my surprise after just cleaning it all down, soaking the block in alcohol and then drying everything off, once I oiled it up and put it on my ender 3 y axis, SMOOTH as butter. No vibrating at high speeds like all the others ive tried. 10/10 cannot recommend these enough. Didnt even have to replace the bearings! I got this to replace one bad rail I got in my 3dfused kit but its so much better than the others I might have to buy another one of these to replace my x axis rail as well!I will come back and update this after a few months of hard abuse C;These blocks and rails are cheaper than Hiwin or Misumi, but they require some work to slide well. Mine were almost immovable out of the package, and one was missing 13 bearings on one side of the block - each side should have 33. I cleaned my rails with a dollar store scrubby brush and straight, undiluted LA's Totally Awesome concentrated cleaner/degreaser, rinsed, and dried. I completely disassembled my blocks and put all the parts in a tightly sealed jar with more undiluted Awesome, gave it some gentle swirling and let the parts soak for half an hour before thoroughly rinsing/drying. I reassembled the carriages and replaced all the bearings with better quality 3/32s, 33 ball bearings per side of each block. Each block was given some love with Super Lube, and now they slide much better.I liked the fact that the price was extremely cheep, I normally design for and install only Hiwin rails and bearings on my custom machines at work. These are the exact same size as the hiwins but they offer poor profomance, this is easily resolved by disassembling, cleaning and reassembling with precision ball bearings and new lube. The package was factory sealed, and all the parts were well protected. All the parts were oiled.Anyone who is somewhat mechanically inclined is aware that the entire assembly has to be taken apart, inspected, washed, reassembled with quality ball bearings, and oiled. If you think that you can get away without doing all this, you’re sadly mistaken. So, ya, these take A LOT of preparation!Plus, the original ball bearings are crap, so dish out the extra $15 and get the good ball bearings. The rail and block had marks on it like it's been used and there was a 0.08mm bow to it.
