I purchased a new QY6-0059 printhead for my ten-year-old Canon iP4200. I installed the new printhead in a few minutes, and now my old printer is working again. The printer had stopped working and gave me a printhead error pop-up message plus a five-blink error signal (printhead error) on the printer LED light. Canon customer service told me that a new printhead might fix the problem, but that a fix might also require replacing other parts that may not be available anymore. I had already tried cleaning the old printhead with warm distilled water carefully following an on-line instruction video, so I knew I could replace the printhead (an easy task). After looking at the quality of comparable new printers, I decided it was worth risking the price of this printhead even for only a chance of fixing my good old iP4200. Now that I have fixed it, I can continue to take advantage of the vast supply of cheap aftermarket ink for this printer as well.Update: After five months, the new printhead failed, five-blink error. I replaced it with a printhead from another source and now the printer works again. I'll see how long this one lasts.This is second print head that I have tried within the last 2 months. The first did not print any color, this one only prints part of the color and/or no color for the test. Also it stated that it was shipped from US. Thought that meant that it was not coming from China like the first on. It DID come from China but did not take quite so long. I will be sending it back. Will not order any more will buy a new printer!Only been using it for a few weeks. Printer is not used very often. With limited use, other print heads seem to clog, So far it has worked without problem.Only prints the black in. Worse than the one I'm wanting to replace. Seller wants photos before providing return label for refund. I'm not going to lose any sleep over $35, but you would be wise the avoid this item and seller.was exactly what I needed and easy to replace. Popped the old one out, popped the new one in, and my printer quit giving me the error message and printed better than it has in ages!On time, would order again.The product arrived ahead of schedule. I installed the printer head and it performed as expected from the moment of installation.Finally found a printer head that works so I can continue to use my Canon photo printer even tho it is out of date.No Problems at all
