Okay, I picked up a 5kg spool of the black thinking that, even if it wasn't the best filament, it'd be somewhat useable. I was not wrong, but boy was I close. First off, while you can get the filament to begin printing at around 190c, it continuously clogs the hot end using a 0.4mm nozzle. Normally, I would think that it was debris or maybe a bit of recycled plastic that needed a little higher temperature, but if you just let the nozzle sit still for a few seconds, you can just extrude it right on out. As a result, I have been messing around with temperatures for the past day trying to dial in what this stuff needs. It seems to be working fine at 80mm/s at 245c, but that's far higher than it should ever be for PLA.Now for the notes:-Normal PLA smells sweet when printed hot or burning. This does as well, but it is only slight. The main scent is reminiscent of photopolymer resin, which is worrisome to me.-The filament behaves oddly. I have no better way to put it. I have smooshed many a half-melted blob of plastic, and I have never once had filament smear apart in the manner this does. It appears to be something like cake crumbs trapped in melted sugar, and is rather rubbery compared to my other filaments.-It jams. A lot. Probably because it requires stupidly high temperatures to melt whatever material this stuff actually is.-This is the only filament I have had to increase my flow ratio on in order to maintain print quality. Everything else is perfect around 95%. This is barely adequate at 100%, and it still fails to adhere to itself half of the time, so your infill tends to pull away from your walls.-It doesn't appear to enjoy sticking to itself. I dont know if it's because of the material type, or if it's because it isn't hot enough, but infill loves to pull away from the walls, and it loves to curl up.-The finish of your print will vary considerably due to temperature fluctuations, acceleration settings, and even jerk settings. merely changing from a larger part to a smaller segment is enough to make one spot shiny while the rest is matte.-5kg spools come on a plastic spindle, not a carboard one. However, it is a smaller, neater package than some of the other filament spools, so that's a plus going for it.In short: if your printer can go above 240c, this will work fine for you if you don't mind the odd smell, or if you are not really planning to put much stress on the object you print. If you do not like dialing in a filament or you cannot hit 240 or better, this is probably not a good choice for you, regardless of the price.
