I didn't bother with the driver on the cd. I followed the advice of another reviewer and plugged it in > add printer > select printer > scroll to CUPS Zebra ZPL driver. The only hang up on my mac was I accidentally described my paper 6x4 instead of 4x6, so my first label printed perpendicular. I wound up taking it to work and it was even easier to set up on the linux system there. Once I selected the driver and started a job, there was no need to tell the printer the format. It just printed correctly the first time.This is my first thermal label printer, so I cannot really speak to the print quality, but one of the first labels was sort of... noisy, so I reprinted to be safe and the next one was fine. My biggest problem is that I keep forgetting it has an on off switch on the back. ^^;
