I think every product in this category is overpriced. I think they have a 2000% markup over manufacturing cost, if not 3000% or more.I wish it were wider to accept some of the more oddball spools.A careful reading of the manual reveals that the "temperature" is the temperature of the heating element, and that the temperature of the air in the box is going to be lower.The numbers in the manual are roughly accurate in the summer maybe?It's winter here, and my house is a little cool. I had the eBox on my desk while i worked today with a spool of stubbornly moist PETG inside, heat set to "4" (80c heater / 50c air), with my Thermapen Mk4's probe inserted through the hole in the front, probe down, so that the probe was probably only 40mm above the heating element.After 4 hours or so i hadn't heard the relay for the heater click off, and the thermapen never read a temperature higher than 60c right above the heating element. I trust this thermometer because it's a professional-grade instrument that came with a NIST certificate and it cost a lot more than the eBox. It's also less than 6 months old.When i drew the probe out and reinserted it so that the tip was in the upper part of the box above the filament, the temperature was closer to 45c.I'm not saying it won't work for most of your moist filament problems. But I have some PETG here that still has moisture problems after spending 12 hours at 60c.I also have some TPU that is on a 1kg spool that is too wide for the box.I am saying that you will want to try the recommended setting for your filament for 6 hours or so, but you might want to bump up to the next setting if that doesn't result in clean prints.And i am saying that if you are trying to print PEEK or PC or other specifically troublesome filaments you may want to stick to the DIY route, or invest in a vacuum oven and use the eBox or something similar for your while-you-print heating.Which brings me to the next quibble. It eventually turns itself off.There's an answered question here on Amazon where they say 18 hours? The first time i set this up, it couldn't have been more than 10 hours before it turned itself off.I routinely launch print jobs that take more than 12 hours and occasionally launch print jobs that take more than 24 hours.If you are in a humid environment and you are printing nylon or tpu or even just abs, you probably want to keep your filament warm and dry all the way through your print jobs.I understand the reasoning for an auto-off timer i just think i should be able to switch it off or configure the length.The fan seems a lot buzzier than it needs to be.Oh, and when i tried to unplug the power supply from it, the jack came out of the box. cool cool.Over all I am disappointed. I'm not sure i want to send it back, but I am sure that i want to proceed with a DIY dry box to print from that is higher powered.
